My Trip to San Francisco
Time for another trip recap! My family and I took a road trip to the United States of California at the end of March. More specifically, The Bay.
Our yearly Giants game quickly approached, and what better way to see the Giants than in Oracle Park?! I’ll wait…
We went from Thursday to Sunday, March 26-29.
I’m originally from NorCal, and I still have a lot of family there and in the Bay Area. So our first stop was San Jose. It was the perfect excuse to stop at one of the best places, Peters’ Bakery. One thing about my family, they don’t play about the burnt almond cake, and I can see why. If you’re ever in the area yourself, pick one up; you won’t be sorry.
We stayed about 25 minutes outside of San Francisco in San Carlos. There’s obviously a plethora of options within the city, but something to be mindful of is that a lot of hotels don’t have accessible parking, and if they do, it’s an additional daily charge.
When we arrived that evening, we decided to order food and found a Mendicino Farms about 5 minutes away. Unbeknownst to me, that place would change my life. Sorry for the drama, but it was delicious; petition to bring one to Vegas, please.

The next day was the Giants game, opening day against the Yankees (this never happens, btw). As we were walking towards the entrance, my dad had an encounter with the one and only Bay Area Bushman, iykyk. He watches his videos religiously, so it was pretty iconic that he was the one to encounter him.
If you know anything about the stadium, then you know to show up on an empty stomach… and with a full wallet. While it was scrumptious, the spicy chicken sandwich alone was over $20.

Of course, a little sweet treat from Ghirardelli was a non-negotiable.
We sat on the third baseline, near the foul post. Giants lost 3-0. Whatever. 🙄
After the game, we headed over to Pier 39 and had dinner at Fog Harbor. This is my mom and my favorite stop for clam chowder, so we had that with a wedge salad. Fun fact about me, if there’s a wedge on the menu, I’m ordering it, and this one was definitely top 3. I washed it down with a cutesy pineapple mocktail.
As you can see, I documented a good amount during this trip. A special thanks to my parents and cousin, who told me to take pictures of everything for the blog.
Another side note, the weather was glorious. A perfect sunny and 75 moment for the most part. I even got a tan during the game.
The next day, Saturday, was our last official day of the trip, so we headed back for another day in the city. We first stopped at the Chase Center for some Warriors merch, because, believe it or not, I didn’t have any.
Also, I got glasses, omg.
A few weeks before the trip, I decided to make reservations at Ayesha Curry’s restaurant, International Smoke. We parked at Union Square and walked over to the Millennium Tower, where the restaurant is located. With over an hour to spare, we stumbled upon the Salesforce Park, a rooftop garden open to the public. It was beautiful. It didn’t even feel like you were in the city. There were also plants and trees from different regions of the world, which made it all the more fascinating.
If you read my article about my trip to Arizona last year, then you know that nothing good came out of making plans. My strategically curated itinerary was immediately thrown out the window. This time around, we went with the flow (for the most part) and explored all that the city had to offer. I’m very type A, but not having expectations was surprisingly freeing. Maybe I’m turning a new leaf… probably not.
We ended our time in San Francisco with dinner at International Smoke. The food and drinks were delicious. However comma, the portions were very small, especially for the pricing. The ambiance and service were top-notch; they even allowed us to come in earlier for Happy Hour at their bar.
That concludes my trip to San Francisco! We woke up the next morning on Sunday and drove home. It took about 8 hours there and back, but I come from a road trip family, so we’re not new to this.
